Good Machine finds `Love'
by Adam Dawtrey

Romantic comedy picked up for worldwide sale

LONDON
Good Machine Intl. has picked up the British romantic comedy "This Year's Love" for worldwide sale outside the U.K. from the pic's financier, Entertainment Film Distributors.

Written and directed by Scottish helmer David Kane, the film boasts a powerful ensemble cast of rising young Brit stars, including Catherine McCormack, Dougray Scott, Kathy Burke, Jennifer Ehle, Ian Hart, Douglas Henshall and Emily Woof.

Their lives intersect as they unwittingly exchange partners over three years in London’s bohemian Camden Town, each searching for love.

The film was produced by Michele Camarda of Kismet Film Co. and financed by Entertainment along with the Scottish Arts Council Lottery Fund. It will be released Feb. 19 in the U.K.

The acquisition extends the existing relationship between Good Machine and Entertainment, after Entertainment picked up U.K. rights last year to GMI’s “Ride With the Devil,” “Happiness” and “The Naked Man.”

The deal marks GMI’s second pickup since it was founded 18 months ago, following international rights to Universal’s “Bride of Chucky.”
