Synopsis
Soldier Soldier
was a British TV series by Carlton Television which ran from 1991 to 1997. Dougray Scott appears as Major Rory Taylor in season 5 which aired in 1995.

The drama, which takes place in the present, and set in Warminster
is about a British Regiment called 'The King's Own Fusiliers.'
The series revolves around the soldiers, their mates, and
British military life, during both peace time and war.

Synopsis of Characters
The core characters are best friends Donna, Nancy, Colette and Marsha, all of whom are in a relationship with members of the regiment - Dave, Paddy, Joe, and Michael, respectively.

Donna

Fusilier Dave Tucker is separated from his wife Donna, whom he still loves.  Only for the sake of their son, Macauley, does Donna agree to move back in with Dave.   Dave's best friend, Corporal Paddy Garvey is divorced from his wife, Sergeant Nancy Garvey, but they soon realize they are still in love with each other.
Fusilier Joe Farrell is in love with Colette Daly.  Although Colette loves Joe, she isn't sure at first if she wants to marry into the military as she wants a career of her own.

Marsha is married to newly commissioned Lt. Michael Stubbs.  She finds it difficult to fit in with the other officers' wives (she wants to be a professional

Major Rory Taylor is second generation military and is the Commander of "B" company.  Divorced for several years, Rory finds new love while in Australia for field exercise.

For Better, For Worse
Donna looses custody of her and Dave's son, Macauley, then during a live ammo demonstration, one of the fusiliers is injured, requiring the SIB (Special Investigation Branch) to look into the situation.

Second Chances
Major Rory Taylor arrives as the new Commander of "B" Company, while Colette thinks Joe is having an affair and Donna and Dave decide to reconcile for Macauley's sake.

Love Not Money
The KOF ready themselves for a big boxing match against a rival regiment while Colette's sister, Bridget arrives to help plan for Colette and Joe's wedding

Bushed
The KOF are sent to Australia to train with the Australian

Norforce Squadron but the training turns dangerous for one of the King's Own. Captain Sadie Williams arrives as the regiment's new doctor.

Far Away
Still "down under" the KOF commemorate Wellington's victory at Waterloo, then go off for a two-day field exercise which leaves a civilian injured.  The girls back home look for Donna and Dave's son Macauley who has run off, while Marsha becomes dangerously ill.

Ill Wind
Major Taylor falls in love with the local store owner's daughter, Tara. The KOF go on a jungle exercise to find a downed WWII airplane while the town of Hope Bay is hit by a deadly cyclone (hurricane).

Sweet Revenge
The KOF return to Warminster and get some well deserved time off.  Nancy and Paddy reach a crossroads in their relationship and must decide if they have a future together.  Maj. Taylor and Lt. Forsythe are required to visit the Taylor household as a follow-up for Family Services when they stumble upon Donna and Marsha being held hostage by a crazed Northern Irishman with a shotgun.

The Army Game
Sgt. Connor is confronted with a situation from his past which may jeopardize his future in the army.  Still recovering from her ordeal as a hostage, Marsha's marriage to Michael is strained by her desire for a career as a singer.  Michael is surprised when an old friend reappears in his life.   Joe faces charges after his gun is mysteriously lost while on maneuvers.  Lt. Col. Paul Phillips and Captain Sadie Williams find they have more in common than the army.  After the death of her husband, Joy starts a new job.

Love and War
Anxious to prove his skill as commander,  Major Rory Taylor puts pressure on the entire platoon during a training exercise competition. After his unexpected departure, Jeremy must overcome his fears to take command and lead "B" company.  Steve and Joe view the upcoming officer's ball as an opportunity to make some easy money.  Marsha senses Michael is distancing himself from her.  Michael decides to look elsewhere for solace when Marsha informs him she is determined to pursue a career as a singer.

Leaving
Dave is desperate to rekindle the romance with Donna, and enlists Paddy's help to pull off a scheme he is sure will impress her. Two Army couples pursue clandestine relationships, but for one it leads to the end of a career.  Nancy and Paddy make an announcement that will change their lives forever.   Donna struggles to tell Dave that she has come to a decision about their marriage.

Hard Lessons
Newly arrived Fusilier Andy Butcher lets enthusiasm triumph over experience with tragic results for another soldier.  Marsha finds that singing professionally can be a tough business; depressed she turns to the bottle for comfort.   Sadie and Paul find

that they have different expectations for their relationship.   Major Rory Taylor is held responsible for a mistake that jeopardizes the life of one of his soldiers, and maybe his career.

Stick Together
The KOF prepare for their journey to South Africa to take part in a training exercise.   New Corporal Bill Markham struggles to find acceptance when he replaces a beloved member of "B" company.  Bill's wife Julie is concerned about being on her own so soon after arriving in Warminster. Michael pursues his relationship with Sangite, while Marsha confronts him about their own marriage.  Colette wins big money at Bingo but how will she spend it?

Under the Sun
The KOF arrive in South Africa.  Jeremy finds romance with a local girl.  Fusilier Butcher is overwhelmed with his new situation and must face the consequences of his actions.  Sadie oversees the building of a new medical clinic for the local population.  Colette and Donna arrive in South Africa to prepare for a wedding.  Major Taylor must prepare his men for the possibility of combat in a land torn apart by years of civil war.

Baptism of Fire
Paul arrives as a military situation develops in a nearby country and the King's Own are ordered into action.  Working in close proximity to Sadie again causes him reconsider his decision about their relationship. Jeremy learns that love is not always easy.  As the regiment follow their orders to evacuate British Aid workers who are in danger, they find themselves under attack and some of them are left behind.

Twist of Fate
Trapped behind enemy lines, "B" company must put their training into practice if they are to escape with their lives.  One of the KOF lays down his life to save those of his friends.  Colette and Donna await news on the fate of their loved ones.  Dave contemplates the possibility that his marriage is over, while Joe wonders if he will be able to return to Colette in time for their wedding
