Regeneration Based on a true story, the film is about a psychiatrist and three of his patients at a military hospital during the first World War. Dr. William Rivers has begun to hover on the edge of a breakdown as a result of his close involvment with his patients: Seigfied Sasson, a brilliant and heroic soldier is sent to the asylum after publishing an outspoken and illegal antiwar pamphel; Wilfred Owen whose support from Sasson enabled him to write what is now reguarded as the finest poetry to emerge from the first world war; and Billy Prior, an officer who cracks under the terrible emotional pressure of war. While being treated at the hospital, Prior falls in love with a local girl whose tenderness and passion put him on the road to recovery.
