Well, here's even more of the latest news about the 007 role....
Daniel Craig was the producers' first choice to replace Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, dispelling reports that the prestigious role had been turned down by other actors during the protracted selection process. Producer Michael G. Wilson told Friday's press conference in London that he spent two years searching for the new British super-spy, and a host of contenders including Clive Owen, Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor were not offered the part in Casino Royale. Wilson said, "(Daniel Craig) was the only one we offered the film to. There's been some speculation that we offered it to other people but that's not accurate." The 37-year-old, who will be the first blond Bond, is expected to portray a stripped down Bond in what is expected to be a darker exploration of the world of espionage. Craig added, "I want to take Bond somewhere he's never been before."

Okay then....this raises the question - for what and for why was Dougray in L.A. last month?  Let us hope (at least for those of us North America) - that it is in preparation for a Hollywood flick in which we will finally be able to see him in!  Pardon my personal 'rant'. The last flick I saw Dougray in was "Ripley's Game" and that was on cable!  And an added footnote - it was EXCELLENT!  It should have had a theatrical release!

As a final note for today - and this is just my not-so-humble-opinion....Daniel Craig as 007 - AS IF!  NOT!!!!  He is so-anti-typical of the American conception of 007.  I seriously doubt the film will score much, if any success.  I'm NOT dissing Daniel as an actor.  He simply just doesn't fit the role as did Sir Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, or Pierce Brosnan.  IMHO, Mr. Dougray Scott - in spite of his own personal apprehensions about the role - had the acting talents to fill out the tux!

'Nuff said.

Dougray took his son Gabriel to a Hibs game recently. You can read about it here.

L.A. photographer Sarah Dunn, has 2 very nice photos of Dougray on her website.  On her home page, scroll to the right for one photo and click on it for the second photo.

This Czech Republic Media Library (www.isifa.com) has some great photos of Dougray!

The Hallmark website has posted over 200! movie stills from The Ten Commandments!

Although it is now official that Daniel Craig is the new James Bond, is it possible that Dougray was still under consideration for the role as late as the end of September?  CommanderBond.net founder Dave Winter was flying from Los Angeles to London last week (Sept. 26th) and saw the past rumored 007 contender Dougray Scott was on his plane. See the photographic evidence here: Photo 1  Photo 2

Hmmm...if he wasn't in L.A. for Bond...I wonder what else he might have up his sleeve?

Dougray's agent's website has added a few new sound-bites of his voice-over commercial work.

Thanks to Patty and Deb of Dougray Scott Unplugged and to Feli and Sylvi of Planet Dougray for the above news!
