| December 28, 1998 Variety Hallmark’s 'Arabian Nights' will fly By Eric J. Olson Mili Avital ("Polish Wedding"), Dougray Scott ("Ever After: A Cinderella Story"), Rufus Sewell ("Dangerous Beauty"), Jason Scott Lee ("The Jungle Book") and Tcheky Karyo ("Addicted to Love") will star in the four-hour Hallmark Entertainment miniseries "Arabian Nights" for ABC. The collection of tales from the Orient told by Scheherazade (Avital) to amuse the cruel sultan of Baghdad (Scott) contains the mix of adventure, mystery and magic that have worked well for exec producer and Hallmark chairman Robert Halmi Sr. on past projects. Dyson Lovell ("Merlin," "The Odyssey") will exec produce along with Halmi. Steve Barron ("Merlin," "The Adventures of Pinocchio") is directing from a script by Peter Barnes ("Merlin").
