Alex McLeish is joined by
actor and Hibs supporter Dougray Scott on arrival at Athens
airport

HIBS made it to Greece at the
second attempt yesterday, with manager Alex McLeish confident
his side are well placed to secure a good result from their
UEFA Cup first round, first leg tie with AEK Athens.
Hibs, who were forced to disembark from their plane at
Edinburgh Airport when the tie was postponed last week, go
into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 5-1 win over
Dunfermline, and McLeish said: "We need a result."
The squad, who were joined on the trip by the actor Dougray
Scott, trained in the Nikos Goumas Stadium last night, and the
only injury concern is whether midfielder Mathias Jack will be
able to take part.
He picked up a foot injury during Sunday’s win against
Dunfermline, but McLeish is optimistic he will be able to
play. |
