BUMBLING Hollywood heartthrob Dougray Scott made a last minute dash
to hire a kilt to become chieftan of a highland games after forgetting
his own.
The Fife-born star of Enigma and Mission Impossible: 2, flew up
from his London home on Wednesday to act as chieftan at the Markinch
Highland Games. But just before the event started he realised he had
not packed his Scott family tartan and had to hire an unknown weave.
The actor said he was delighted to be chieftan at the games as it
would make him equal with his best friend Ewan McGregor who hosted the
Crieff games last year.
He said: "I can't believe I forgot my family kilt but it was
one of those things.
"I'm thrilled to have been asked here because I used to come
as a boy. I was a bit envious when Ewan was asked to be chieftan but
now I can say I was one too."
