HOLLYWOOD star Dougray Scott yesterday
revealed he had joined Tommy Sheridan's Scottish Socialist Party.
Scott, 37, who starred with Tom Cruise in
Mission Impossible: 2, is a former Militant.
He spends most of his time jet-setting on
movie projects between London and Los Angeles.
Scott, a Hibs fan, took out associate
membership after seeing the SSP manifesto which includes free entry to
football matches for pensioners and the unemployed.
He said: "If I lived in Scotland, I would
vote and campaign for the Scottish Socialists. I agree with all of the
SSP manifesto.
"It's full of good, sound socialist
policies. I would pay more money in taxes to give nurses and
fire-fighters a decent wage."
With 11 days till the election on May 1,
there was bad news for Labour as it emerged that Govan candidate
Gordon Jackson had taken time out from campaigning to jet off to Spain
for a holiday.
Election? What Election?
