Nylon recruits Daldry to shoot Hellfire
Natacha Clarke in London
UK-based production company Natural Nylon has lined
up Stephen Daldry, director of Cannes-tipped feature Dancer,
to direct Hellfire Club about a notorious
aristocratic society.
The project is set to star Natural Nylon co-founders
Jude Law, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewan McGregor, Sean Pertwee
and Sadie Frost. John Brownlow has written the script.
Meanwhile Natural Nylon has also recruited Best
Laid Plans director Mike Barker to direct Cromwell
And Fairfax from Jennie
Mayhew's script about Oliver Cromwell's
attempts to bring the General of the English armies,
Thomas Fairfax, into the
front line of founding a new English state. Scottish
actor Dougray Scott is attached to star.
Other new projects on Nylon’s development slate
include Once In A House On Fire, written and to
be directed by Emily Young based on Andrea Ashworth’s
best-selling memoirs about her violent childhood. The
company is also developing Unreasonable Behaviour,
based on the autobiography of war photographer Don
McCullin, which is set to star Jonny Lee Miller.
In addition, Marianne Jean Baptiste is set to star in
Albert Camus, What’s The Score, about a man who
uses Camus’ The Outsider as his guide through a voyage
of discovery. Written by Wes Williams and Nick Whitfield
- who will also star alongside Jean-Baptiste - the
project is to be directed by Iain MacKenzie. |
