Good to see the Dick Van Dyke award for poor grasp of an accent won't be winging its way to Dougray Scott. The Fife-born star of Enigma has, we learn, mastered a "posh" Welsh accent to play poet Dylan Thomas in the forthcoming film Map Of Love.

"When I first met Dougray he worked every kind of Welsh accent he could into the conversation to show he knew the difference," explains director Chris Monger. "Dylan Thomas had an educated Welsh accent of the time and there is nothing like it now."

Slim Scott has also adopted Thomas's waistline, having gorged himself on cakes to pass himself off as the portly poet.
